Golden Age in Amsterdam: architecture
and painting
This
day program dedicated to Amsterdam's
heyday, starts with an architectural
cruise through the canals leading
us to a historical canal house
that used to belong to a rich
Amsterdam merchant. A guided
tour around its 17th century
period rooms and the hidden
church in the attic. Following:
a walk via the warehouses of
the United East Indian Shipping
Company (V.O.C.), the Montelbaan
Tower and the De Pinto House
to the house where Rembrandt
used to live and work. Here
you will be able to admire 250
original etchings and drawings.
Finally we will visit the Royal
Palace, the ultimate symbol
of power and wealth in the 17th
century. In the evening: dinner
at a former patrician's mansion.
