DAYPROGRAMS IN THE NETHERLANDS
<< back to the overview

The Hague: Mesdag and the sea

This day is dedicated to our seascape painter Hendrik Willem Mesdag and Scheveningen. First you will visit the Panorama Mesdag Museum: Scheveningen in the year 1881, painted on 120 metres of canvas. Afterwards you will have lunch at a historical artists' club. At Mesdag's attractive living quarters and studio you will be able to admire his personal collection of "Haagse School" paintings (by Israels, Breitner, Mesdag himself) and the French Barbizon School (Corot, Millet, Daubigny).
There are also ceramics by Colenbrander on show, besides a collection of Chinese and Japanese bronzes. A walk along the boulevard in present day Scheveningen followed by drinks and dinner at the Kurhaus may conclude your day

extra: a visit to the museum Sculptures on the Sea followed by dinner at the Von Wied Pavilion
.

The Hague & Delft: Royal Orange tour

A tour dedicated to the royal family’s fascinating history. Interesting for both our Dutch, foreign guests!
It goes without saying that we will be taking your party to The Hague to see Palace “Noordeinde”, Palace “Kneuterdijk”, the Royal Mews, “Ridderzaal” (Hall of Knights) and Palace “Huis ten Bosch”, where Beatrix resides.

After lunch at an historical location, you will leave for Delft to enjoy a historical Orange Walk. With a visit to the “Prinsenhof” (Royal Household), the family grave and Willem de Zwijger’s mausoleum in the “Nieuwe Kerk” (New Church), along the house of Willem van Oranje’s personal physician and the Market. You will also meet the world famous painters Vermeer and Jan Steen along your travels. As well as a break with an “oranjebittertje”! Needless to say, we can also arrange dinner at an historical location, if so required.

Prices depending on your wishes and the number of participants.
